Lionsgate Play Latest News: OTT platform Lionsgate Play App is launched in India. Starz has launched this streaming service. According to tech experts, this new OTT app can compete with local and international streaming apps in the Indian market. Let’s find out more about the Lionsgate Play App.

Let’s first come to the Lionsgate Play app subscription cost. Users can enjoy this OTT platform at Rs.99 per month and Rs.699 per year. In this case, Lionsgate Play will be available in Amazon’s Fire TV, Android and iOS versions. The OTT platform was launched in the Indian market last year in alliance with Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance Jio. Since then the market has slowly started to grow.

The company hopes that it can play a significant role in the country’s streaming service sector in the future. From international OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar to platforms like Voot, Zee5 are already focusing on local content. And from that point of view, Lionsgate Play can give a huge attack to these OTT platforms.

Speaking about the launch of Lionsgate Play in India, Jeffrey A Hirsch, Starz President and Chief Executive Officer said the country, with its diverse population, has always been a key market for them.

The large and diverse population increased data usage in urban and rural markets, and the adoption of OTT across all demographics created an exciting opportunity for us to launch Lionsgate Play. We’re confident that our unique, exclusive and exceptionally curated content will generate a great response from Indian audiences,” Hirsch added.

The Lionsgate Play app started rolling out in beta form to testers in India last month. Some early users had also complained about the Lionsgate Play watermark at the top right corner of the screen that appeared during the entire movie.
